Bellai Alliance Civil Notice: Reconstruction at Highway 28 and the Eels Creek Rest Area

Please be advised that Bellai Alliance Civil Inc. will be conducting reconstruction works along the Highway 28 Right-of-Way at the Eels Creek Bridge located at the Eels Creek Rest Area (approx. 13.3km North of Burleigh Falls). Work is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2024, and conclude in August 2025.

Traffic impacts:

Traffic will encounter single lane closures along Highway 28 NBL and SBL with one lane remaining open at all times. Vehicular access across Eels creek will be controlled via temporary traffic signals. Bellai Alliance Civil Inc. will submit all closure notifications to the Contract Administrator and MTO Compass Operation Centre.

Eels Creek Bridge:

Replacement of the HWY 28 Bridge Structure over Eels Creek will be completed in two (2) stages with the bridge reduced to one lane. Access across the structure will be controlled with temporary traffic signals. A winter shutdown of operations will occur between December 2024 – May 2025.
