The Municipal office will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Monday and will re-open on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 9:00 am with normal business hours.

Parks & Recreation 

The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Monday.

Garbage & Recycling 

The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will be open on Monday, October 14, 2024, with Sunday summer schedule hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  

Curbside Garbage and Recycling collection will operate as normal on October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Monday. Please have your material out at the curbside by 7:00 am.

Road Closures

  • Peterborough County Announces County Road 54 (Balmer Road) Rehabilitation Project

    On Friday, July 26, 2024, the County of Peterborough announced that construction work is now underway on County Road 54, also known as Balmer Road, in the village of Apsley. The County Road 54 rehabilitation project will include minor rock removal for increased sightlines, full depth reclamation of existing surface, fresh granular A Road Base, and double surface treatment. 
  • Road Maintenance on Big Cedar Lake Road, Haultain Road, and Fire Route 10
    Starting the week of July 29, 2024, the Township of North Kawartha Roads Department will conduct minor drainage improvements and culvert replacements on Big Cedar Lake Road (from Don Wilson Road to Fire Route 42), Haultain Road, and Fire Route 10.
