Road Closures

Closure Time: 10:30 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m.
Closure Location: Burleigh Street, from just North of County Road 504 to just south of civic address #268

Please be advised that Burleigh Street will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m. The closure is required to ensure the safety of pedestrians and spectators during the Remembrance Day Ceremony. 

The Township of North Kawartha has become aware of upcoming road construction planned and coordinated by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), under project GWP 4017-17-00 and contract number 2022-4005, and would like to share that information with residents and travelers.

Starting March 10, 2025, reduced load restrictions will be in effect for all Township of North Kawartha roads.

Reduced load restrictions are applied each spring during the thaw when the road network is most vulnerable to help prevent permanent damages to pavement and surface treated roads.

While in the reduced load restrictions are in place, vehicles are restricted to load limits of 5 tonnes per axle.
